Yes, this is it! November 13, 2009

It was 2:30 pm, the second meeting of the student teachers with their supervisor. I was there. Yes, I am a student teacher too.

It was the continuation of the discussion. Our supervisor tackled the objectives of student teaching. We have come to realize why is it that we need to get out and face the actual classroom teaching. She also discussed the roles of different school personnel or authorities who have connection to our practice teaching like principal, academic supervisor, cooperating teachers, etc.

We also have a chance to know the expectations for a student teacher in different aspects like thinking skills, academic and communication skills, personal qualities and professional skills.

Expectations to Student Teachers:

A. Professional Qualities
a. Mastery of the subject matter
b. Classroom Management
c. Communication skills (oral and written)
d. Procedural teaching skills
e. Evaluation
B. Technical Skills
a. Preparation of teaching device
b. Filling out form
c. Use of AV equipment
d. Structuring of classroom
e. Use of computer
C. Personal/Social Qualities
a. Well-modulated voice
b. Have confidence
c. Patient
d. Approachable
e. Cheerful
f. Service-oriented
g. Accepts and responds positively to criticism and seeks suggestions for improvement
h. Relate with peers, supervisor, parent and other



Undeniably, my self-assessment with those expectation has a satisfying result.
