It was the Closing and Awarding Ceremony of Palarong Pambata 2009. It was also the Cultural Presentation of each grade level.
Ma’am Yen was again one of the committee during the program. She was so active in all aspects whether academic or curricular activities. I was so admired by her enthusiasm and passion as a teacher. She told me before that among the schools she had worked; she enjoyed most of her teaching life here in Naga College Foundation. Someday, I will be like her.
In the Cultural Presentation of my pupils, I was so overwhelmed of their performance- the best. I realized that all those time and efforts we had sacrificed in every practice were worth winning for. Through their costumes, formations, steps and energy, my Grade 2 pupils won 1st Place in Modern Dance competition. Ma’am Yen and I was very happy.
During the awarding ceremony for Palarong Pambata 2009 both for primary and intermediate level, we bagged many awards.
This event provides much experience which is the same to being a coach for a particular contest. In the actual teaching, I will not only be exposed to teaching children to dance for a dance competition. There will be time that I will be coaching students who will compete for academic contest. Among them are Science-Math Competition, Rizal Quiz Bee, Nutrition Month Quiz Bee, Press Conference, etc. Consequently, I grasp the reason why Teacher Yen exposed me in this experience. In this case, you have to your best and spend more effort not just for the sake of your name as a coach/teacher, but also for the children and for the school.
Every time we have a program in Elementary Department, I feel the breadth and pleasure that I choose to become an elementary teacher where I can be with children.
